Chapter 169
Chapter 169
Valerie Rae was waiting in the bathroom. She knew what would happen next. Therefore, she was not in
a hurry. After waiting for about ten minutes, she took out her mobile phone and called Franklin Moore.
Then, she asked Franklin's date to bring her a sanitary pad.
Franklin's date was a model. Valerie waited for a while in the bathroom before the model handed the
item to her. The model said disdainfully, "This is the first time I'm asked to bring this to someone."
Then, she turned around and went out.
Valerie was angry when she heard her words, but she did not lose her temper, for she knew that a
good show was about to unveil.
After Valerie came out, she saw Franklin and his date waiting at the entrance of the banquet hall.
Franklin knew that Valerie and Coralie had gone to the bathroom together, so he asked casually,
"Where is Coralie?"
In fact, Valerie was waiting for someone to ask this. When she heard Franklin's question, she shook her
head with a confused look, "I asked her to help me get it just now. I'm not sure whether she had
forgotten about it, but she didn't come back."
"She didn't go back?"
Franklin stood there with his hands in his pockets. When he heard Valerie's words, his expression
turned solemn.
He had been puzzled before. Valerie had not been in touch with him for several years. He thought it
was strange for her to contact him all of a sudden, and he was suspicious.
"Yeah, isn't she here?"
Valerie's expression was calm. She looked around as though she was searching for Coralie.
"No."
"Why don't we look for her at the locker area?"
Valerie proposed.
Before she could even finish her words, Franklin had already stepped out of the banquet hall.
Valerie's wheelchair was electric-powered. She could control its speed with her fingertips.
Franklin walked fast, and she quickly caught up with him. She asked faintly, "Franklin, you seemed
quite concerned about Miss Chariott."
"I'm always concerned about beautiful women."
Although Franklin had said so, he still felt uneasy.
It was a normal occurrence for a person to leave the banquet hall for more than ten minutes, but
somehow, he felt that something was amiss.
The two of them arrived at the locker area and saw that the room was empty. Valerie opened her
compartment, and everything was lying neatly in it without any signs of being touched.
"Miss Chariott probably didn't come here," Valerie's voice seemed to be nervous as well, "Do you think
that something had happened to her?"
"I'll call her."
Franklin called Coralie, but none of his calls were answered.
He thought for a moment and continued to walk toward the banquet hall, "I'll ask my uncle for help."
Skylar Holland was Franklin's uncle. However, he rarely addressed Skylar as his uncle. However, he
was really anxious at the moment.
When Franklin ran over, Skylar was still talking business with Jasper Zac.
"Uncle, Coralie is missing." This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
Franklin blurted it out without considering the situation.
Skylar's face immediately darkened, "What do you mean?"
Valerie, who had been following behind Franklin, told Skylar what had happened.
Skylar scowled. He grabbed Valerie's arm, and his gaze was intense, "Are you telling the truth?"
Jasper didn't say anything at first, but when he saw Skylar's attitude toward Valerie, his face fell. He
grabbed Skylar's hand and shook it away, "Does Miss Rae have any reason to lie to you?"
Franklin interrupted quickly, "He's just too worried about Coralie."
"Ask the hotel staff to check the surveillance footage!"
Skylar glanced at Jasper, who had just shaken his hand away. The rapport and the good relationship
they had just built was gone in an instant.
They got hold of one of the staff and followed him to the monitoring room. Valerie tagged behind them
and took a look at her mobile phone. It had been almost 20 minutes since Coralie left.
She felt a little relieved.
In the monitoring room, the staff did see Valerie and Coralie entering the bathroom when they turned
on the monitor. Then, Coralie seemed to have exited the bathroom alone to get something for Valerie.
However, someone had beckoned her halfway and she seemed to have gone to a dead end. She did
not appear in any of the surveillance footage after that...
"She's gone..."
The staff looked at each other. Skylar stared at the screen of the monitor and questioned the staff of
the hotel coldly, "Don't tell me you are at your wits' end..."
It was obviously a warm room, but the temperature dropped sharply as though the air in the room had
completely frozen.
"The small passage might be a dead end, but I'll check the other surveillance camera."
The staff said fearfully, and he quickly checked other surveillance footage.
......
A man dressed in a waiter's clothes stopped Coralie on her way to bring Valerie her sanitary pad. When
she went over, the man named Hayes Jenkins attacked her with a taser.
After some time, Coralie felt a burning pain on her face. It seemed that someone had hit her, but she
found it difficult to open her eyes.
After a few seconds, another burning pain came from the other side of her face. She heard Hayes'
voice, "Don't you f**king pretend to be dead!"
At this moment, Coralie realized that someone was hitting her, and her consciousness became clearer
with the pain on her cheek.
When she slowly opened her eyes, she saw that Hayes was crouching. One of his hands was
unbuckling his belt while the other hand was holding a camera. When he saw her waking up, he
bawled, "If you dare to play dead again, I'll come for you."
Coralie was dizzy as she had been tasered just before, but she sobered up when she heard him. She
looked in horror at the man in front of her and struggled to speak, "What... are you doing?"
"What do you think?" Hayes laughed.
Hayes was obviously a ruffian. Perhaps he had not seen a woman for a long time, but he became
excited as soon as Coralie was awake and could talk. He quickly put the camera aside and took off his
pants with both hands.
"Get lost!"
Coralie didn't know how she was brought here. She had been tasered just now, and she was still sore
in her limbs. She could barely move.
However, she still tried to escape from below the man's crotch.
"There's no hurry, aye? It's not easy for me to try something new. How dare you run away?"
The man had just taken off his pants and it fell to his knees. When he saw Coralie trying to run away,
he pulled her back with one hand.
Coralie roughly recalled everything that had happened just now. The first thing she thought of was how
Valerie had tricked her. She tried saying, "How much did she pay you? I'll give you three times! No, five
times the amount!"
