Chapter 400
Chapter 400
"Yes, I am aware."
Coralie nodded, "My friend has informed me."
"If that's the case, then it's fine."
The receptionist glanced at Coralie. Seeing that Coralie wore ordinary clothes, she did not give much
thought to it and left.
However, as soon as the receptionist went out, she heard the questions from her colleagues. "Is it her?
Is it her?"
She immediately said, "It doesn’t seem to be her. I think her clothes are not too expensive."
"Really? I thought it was her, but think about it. How could the owner of a Bentley come to our company
for an interview?"
Soon, the crowd dispersed.
Coralie huffed out a sigh of relief.
After a while, a man with a chubby figure came over. When he saw Coralie, he immediately smiled,
"Sorry to keep you waiting. I was on the phone just now."
"It's fine." Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Coralie shook her head. She guessed that this was Mr. Miles whom the receptionist had mentioned just
now.
Luke Miles sat on the couch. He took in Coralie and said, "Miss Chariots as you are Xenia's friend, you
must have a similar family background as her. Let me be clear. Although we are looking for part-timers,
the requirements are the same as our current employees. I will not allow any sloppiness."
He was clear with his requirements. He was worried that Coralie was just a rich lady who came to
experience life and would not take the work seriously.
"Mr. Miles, rest assured. I will do my job seriously."
Coralie expressed her stance.
Seeing that Coralie did not look like the typical wealthy princesses, Luke said, "Okay, let's have an
interview first."
The interview lasted for about twenty minutes.
Because of Skylar's help the night before, Coralie's performance was considered good.
After the interview, Mr. Miles sized up Coralie. "Not bad. I did not expect that Xenia would have such an
excellent friend. I thought you would be the same as her."
"Xenia is also an outstanding person."
Coralie spoke up for Xenia after hearing Mr. Miles' complaint.
"You don't need to speak up for her. We have been classmates for more than ten years. I know her
characteristics perfectly."
Luke chuckled, "Okay, come with me. I'll let you try out the task first. If there is no problem, we will
contact you when we need translators in the future."
"Okay, Mr. Miles."
"My name is Luke Miles, similar to Luke from that game. I don't think my mother gave me a good name,
because now I look like the mushroom character."
Luke muttered to himself as he walked ahead.
Although Coralie agreed with him, she did not dare to continue on that topic. She merely said, "It's easy
to remember."
He was going to be her boss in the future. Coralie did not dare to offend him.
Coralie followed him to obtain a trial document. Luke pointed to the table next to him, "You can
translate here. You can also use a dictionary. Let me know when you are done."
"Alright."
Coralie interpreted it quickly.
The document that Luke gave her was relatively simple. She was able to translate it in a short time and
then rechecked her work before she went over to Luke.
"Well, not bad. Did you study abroad before?"
Luke nodded as he looked at her translation.
"No."
"It's good enough that you can translate at this level and you speak well too. In the future, we can
consider hiring you as our full-timer." After Luke said that, he took out a business card and handed it to
Coralie. "This is my business card. It has my work email. If we need a translator in the future, I will use
this email address to send you an email."
Coralie came out from the translation company and went directly to the furniture store.
After she heard Luke mentioning that she could be a full- timer, she was in high spirits. She imagined
herself working in that company and staying in her new house that was so close to the office. She was
greatly motivated to choose the furniture for their new home at that moment.
That day, Coralie picked out the ceiling light and all the furniture in the living room according to the
required sizes. She also took pictures of them. If Skylar nodded his head, she could immediately book
them and arrange for delivery.
As soon as Coralie returned home, she received an email from Luke. It contained three documents to
be translated and the deadline.
Coralie glanced at it and saw that the deadline was a week away.
As she had not worked for a long time, Coralie felt eager to start immediately and was ready to rush
upstairs to translate the document.
"Beep."
Just as she walked up the stairs, she heard the sound of the fingerprint verification coming from the
door.
Skylar had come home.
"Why are you home so early today?"
Coralie turned to look at him, who was changing his shoes at the door. She then glanced at the clock
and saw that it was only two in the afternoon.
"How was the interview?"
Skylar changed the topic instead.
"It's all thanks to you. The manager praised my French proficiency. He thought that I studied abroad."
Coralie attributed her accomplishments to Skylar.
Although it was also relevant that she had studied with Yohan for a year, it was all in the past.
"That's good." Skylar stepped forward and pulled Coralie, who was about to go upstairs, into his arms.
He tucked the messy hair on her cheek behind her ear. "My love, there might be a dinner tonight that
will be unpleasant for you."
"A dinner that would be unpleasant?" Coralie asked, confused.
"Yes, my father came back today and I arranged to meet my parents tonight. I want to discuss our
wedding with them."
Coralie forced out a relaxed expression upon hearing what Skylar said. "How could it be unpleasant? If
I was to marry you, the first thing to do is to gain your parent's approval. Otherwise, I won't be a
competent wife."
She knew that it was hard for Skylar to be sandwiched between her and his parents. She didn't want to
make things difficult for him.
"I'm sorry. If they take it too far today, I'll help you."
Skylar lowered his head to kiss Coralie's lips.
"I know you will," Coralie smiled at him. "What time is the dinner? I have just received my first
assignment.
I want to go up and work on it for a while.”
"Do you want me to help you?" Skylar offered.
"No, it's my job. When I'm finished with the translation, you can check if there's anything wrong with it."
Coralie felt that it was her own matters; she did not want to trouble Skylar.
"Alright, I'll take a shower then. I'll go to the study room to look for you after that."
As Skylar spoke, he pinched Coralie's waist, carrying a special meaning.
Coralie translated the documents in the study room for a while.
Her first official assignment was much harder than the previous trial document given by Luke. There
were many professional jargons. She looked up the words that she did not know on the internet.
However, Coralie wrote down every unknown word on post-it notes and taped it next to the computer,
or on the desk.
When Skylar joined Coralie in the study room after taking his shower, he saw dozens of post-it notes on
the desk.
"Do you need me to buy you a bigger desk?"
"No... I'll throw these away after I know what they mean."
Coralie was a little embarrassed after she heard Skylar. After all, there seemed to be many words that
she did not know...
Skylar had just finished taking his shower, and the water droplets from his hair dripped onto Coralie's
face. Coralie wiped them away, looked up, and said, "You did not dry your hair?"
"Well, it's because I'm starting to miss you, thus I did not bother with it," Skylar said as he leaned over
and sniffed the faint fragrance from Coralie's neck. He muttered, "Did you apply perfume today?"
