Chapter 401
Chapter 401
"Well, it's etiquette..."
Coralie felt a little itchy when she was teased by him.
"You smell good. Come on, let me have a closer scent," Skylar said as he pulled Coralie from her chair
and ushered her to sit on the desk. "My love, can you continue with your work after I'm done with my
business?"
"No! I won't have any time left after you are done with your business."
Coralie protested.
She knew what Skylar meant.
"Then you don't have to do it. Let me translate it for you this time and then you can do it yourself the
next time."
Skylar was not aware of her assignment's deadline. He thought it was an urgent assignment thus he
offered to help her.
"This is my responsibility," Coralie huffed.
"Be a good girl. You can do it at night. I don't think we have tried doing it in the study room before."
As Skylar spoke, his hands carried on with their movements.
The originally cold atmosphere in the study room had turned enchanting and lustful.
After Coralie and Skylar were done, it was almost 4 o'clock. Coralie knew that she did not have much
time left to continue with her work, thus she took a bath, put on light makeup and a decent dress, and
followed Skylar to meet his parents.
In fact, she was really nervous.
"Skylar, what if both your parents strongly oppose us?"
Coralie held Skylar's hand in the car, her palms sweating slightly.
If it was only Lilian who opposed her, Coralie could still deal with it, but what if Anthony opposed as
well?
She still remembered what Anthony told her in the hospital many years ago.
"Poor people like you love to talk about feelings, but we are businessmen, and businessmen only look
at benefits."
If his thoughts were still the same, Anthony would still hope that Skylar would marry a woman who
would be helpful to their business.
Many women fulfilled his criteria, but she definitely did not.
"No, they won't. This time, I'm not asking for their approval. I am merely informing them."
Skylar placed his hand on Coralie's shoulder to comfort her.
Coralie did not speak anymore. At this point, it was useless to escape. She had to face the obstacle
together with Skylar.
"Tell me, who is that woman? Is that Evelyn from last time?"
When Skylar and Coralie arrived at the restaurant, the waiter led them to their private dining room.
However, before they could push the door open, they heard Lillian's screaming from the outside.
Skylar's hand, which was about to open the door, halted.
"She is my assistant. How many times do I need to tell you?"
It was Anthony's voice.
His tone was full of impatience for Lilian.
"Assistant? How many times have I told you to stop looking for a female secretary or assistant? But
look at you, how many did you hire? It was Linda before and now Evelyn. Can't you find a male
assistant? Your son also hired a male assistant!"
Lillian babbled furiously inside the room.
"Should we go in later?"
Coralie glanced at Skylar and asked for his opinion.
If they went in at that moment, both Anthony and Lillian would know that they had heard them
quarreling. They would feel embarrassed.
"It's fine. Let's enter."
Skylar pushed the door open as he spoke.
Anthony initially wanted to say something, but when he saw Skylar walking in, he swallowed his words
and put on a serious expression.
"Morn, Dad."
Skylar greeted them and dragged Coralie in.
"Uncle, Auntie."
Lillian and Anthony both had a stern face, as if Coralie owed them 100 million dollars. Looking at them,
Coralie did not dare to say anything.
After they sat down, Lillian pointed at Coralie. "What are you wearing? Do you wish to be the daughter-
in-law of the Holland family with such tastes?"
Coralie was a little dumbfounded by her words.
Obviously, Lillian was furious and she had nowhere to vent her anger. Therefore, she vented her anger
on Coralie.
"Morn, I bought the dress for her."
Skylar took the blame.
"You bought it for her?" Lillian became even more enraged. "Son, you are the president of Skyton
Corporation. How can you buy clothes for a woman?" "Why not? She is my wife," Skylar shrugged.
"Of course not! So what if she is your wife? She is supposed to serve and take care of you, not the
other way around!"
Lilian behaved like a madwoman, attacking everyone.
However, her attitude towards Skylar was still good. She only treated Coralie poorly.
"Auntie, I will not let Skylar buy anything for me in the future. I will take good care of him."
Coralie was afraid that Lillian and Skylar would start a fight over this matter, thus she immediately
placed the blame on herself.
"Whoever Skylar marries will take good care of him. Why must he marry you?"
Lilian planned to vent out her frustration.
"I love her and I will only marry her." Skylar placed his hands on Coralie's chair and said, "If you want to
continue talking like this, we have nothing to talk about anymore. We don't have to meet in the future."
"That's enough! Let's eat. Instruct the waiters to serve the dishes!"
Anthony, who kept silent, finally opened his mouth.
During the meal, no one spoke a word.
After venting out her anger, Lillian was starved. She busied herself, gobbling down the dishes. After
she was satisfied, she put down her cutlery and said to Skylar, "Skylar, Valerie lost a leg to save
Coralie. She cant get married now. We, the Holland family, can't be so ungrateful."
Lilian's sentences circled around Valerie.
"Really? Did she tell you?"
"Yes."
Lillian nodded.
"Great timing. I wanted to speak to President Zac about the matter he promised me before. I will give
him a call now."
Skylar remained calm and collected. He dialed a number on his phone and placed it on speaker mode.
Coralie, who sat next to him, saw that he called Houston.
Immediately, the call was connected.
"Hello, President Holland."
Houston answered the call, sounding very enthusiastic.
"President Zac, the thing is, my mother has always treated Valerie as her goddaughter. She heard that Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Valerie was going to marry Young Master Zac, thus she asked me to inquire about the progress of this
matter."
He spoke tactfully.
Houston immediately understood what Skylar meant. "The couple took their wedding photos last week,
but as the hotels are packed, the wedding will need to be arranged for the end of next month."
"That's great. Please send us an invitation card when the time comes."
"Sure, definitely!"
When Skylar hung up the phone, Lillian felt extremely awkward.
Valerie had even taken wedding photos with Jasper, yet she still tried to persuade Skylar to marry
Valerie.
"Just continue playing your poker. Do not interfere with Skylar's marriage matters anymore!"
Anthony glanced at Lillian with a disgusted look.
Coralie discovered that since they came in, Anthony had not looked at Lillian. Whenever he glanced at
her occasionally, he was either disgusted or displeased.
"Miss Chariott, if I remember correctly, you are related to Houston, the one on the line just now. Am I
right?"
Anthony suddenly spoke.
Coralie was taken aback. She did not expect Anthony to mention it.
