You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 506

Chapter 506

"Are you buying something for a newborn baby? Do you need me to provide some guidance?"

A shop assistant came over, asking Zoel and Lucille.

"Yes, please, but the baby is not born yet and we don't know the gender. We have no idea what to buy."

Zoel pointed at Lucille's stomach.

"It doesn't matter. You can buy some things like milk bottles and diapers first. These are necessities.

For swaddles, you can buy one in a neutral color and get the others after the baby is born."

Of course, the shop assistant wouldn't let them leave because they didn't know the baby's gender.

Instead, she tried her best to promote their products.

She introduced everything from the baby stroller and bed, to the baby pillows and milk bottles.

Zoel waved his hand generously. "Buy all of them!"

Lucille was observing him from the side, feeling that he had been bewitched. As long as the shop

assistant recommended something, he would agree to purchase it. Lucille stopped him immediately,

"No! We don't need that much. We are just getting a few things first."

"You have to buy them anyway, so let's buy them all at once."

"No, I'm living in Abby's house now. It's inconvenient to bring so many things back in one go." Lucille

glanced around and added, "And there are so many stores here. We can have a look at other stores

too."

Others would compare the price before purchasing. No one would act like Zoel, purchasing all the

items at the entrance of the first store he visited.

"That's true..." He nodded and told the shop assistant gently, "We'll shop around first."

The shop assistant thought that she was going to make a big sale, but she didn't expect Zoel to leave

after listening to Lucille's words. She was a bit unhappy, but she still flattered him. "Men usually don't

like to shop. Miss, you are so lucky to have such a good husband who is willing to shop with you."

"Haha, thank you."

Hearing the shop assistant's words, Zoel looked smug.

"There are many mothers who come here to shop by themselves. Women nowadays tend to do

everything on their own. There are not many couples who are as happy as you two." The shop

assistant continued to praise them as she knew that Zoel was delighted.

"That's not the case," Lucille felt awkward. "Excuse me. We are going somewhere else."

Only then did she realize that it was a wrong decision to let Zoel accompany her to go shopping.

It was not the shop assistant's fault anyway. Who would ask someone other than the child's father to

buy baby products together?

Lucille walked around with Zoel. Sure enough, everyone thought that he was the father of the child.

The more she listened, the more awkward she felt, but she was too embarrassed to explain. Finally,

she said, "Mr. Parker, that's enough for today. Thank you for accompanying me."

"Okay, I'll send you back."

"No, I can take a taxi back myself."

"It's not a big deal." Zoel pulled her sleeve and spoke as he walked, "You are my only employee, and

you are so talented in arts. If anything happens to you, I'll suffer a loss."

That was indeed what he had thought at first.

Zoel knew that Lucille would definitely become an excellent artist in the future.

However, as he came into contact with her, he felt she was too silly when it came to the fact that she

was pregnant with Franklin's child.

He couldn't help but think that it would be fortunate to be liked by Lucille.

Ever since Natasha told Lucille about her true identity, Lucille always had a complicated feeling.

It happened to be her mother's birthday, so she took a day off and came to her mother's grave alone to

talk.

Lucille stared at her mother's picture on the grave when she was still young. She felt depressed and

sullen.

"Mom, I miss you so much." She knelt there and placed the flowers she brought in front of the grave.

She caressed her belly. "Mom, I'm pregnant now. I won't be alone in the future. My baby will

accompany me. I will raise him and won't leave him alone."

After she finished, she seemed to sense that she had said something wrong. "Mom, I'm not blaming

you for not accompanying me. I know that you love me very much. I will also love my child, just like

how you loved me."

She knelt there and told her mother about Franklin, as well as Zoel.

The only thing she did not mention was Natasha's identity.

She was afraid that her mother was unaware of this. If she brought it up, her mother would not be able

to rest in peace.

Lucille sat alone in the cemetery for a long time. It was the end of January and the weather was

freezing. She was afraid of catching a cold and affecting the baby, so she decided to leave when the

sun was about to set.

As soon as she got up, she saw Marvin standing behind her. Judging from the flowers in his hand, it

seemed that he had been standing there for a long time.

"Dad... How long have you been here?"

"Awhile."

Marvin walked over and helped her up.

"Dad, are you here to see Mom?" Lucille saw him holding her mother's favorite lilies, but she felt ironic

when she thought of what Natasha had told her.

"Well, I visit her on her birthday every year." Marvin went forward and put the flowers in front of the

grave. He touched the tombstone and uttered, "Honey, Lucille has grown up and is going to be a

mother. You can rest assured now."

Lucille stood at the side, not saying a word. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Marvin murmured in front of the grave for a while before he turned around. "Let me take you home."

He was walking in front and Lucille could not help asking, "Dad, you address Alma as honey, and the

same goes for my mother. Can you differentiate them?"

When she recalled Natasha's words, she suddenly felt that he was unworthy of her mother.

"I loved your mom the most. I was forced to marry Alma."

Marvin heaved a long sigh. He was almost 50 years old and could be regarded as a middle-aged man.

However, he looked weathered and old, which did not match his age.

Lucille followed behind him and stared at her father's slightly hunched back. After hesitating for a long

time, she finally asked, "Then... Is Natasha my sister?"

"She's your family."

"I mean my biological sister."

Lucille found that he was deliberately evading this question, trying to brush her off.

He was stunned. He turned to glance at Lucille, who stood at the back with a determined look. He

asked with some suspicion, "Who told you this?"

"Is that the truth? Did you... have an affair?"

Lucille did not believe Natasha's words before, but Marvin's expression at the moment had revealed

the answer.

"Yes..." He nodded and explained guiltily, "Lucille, everyone makes mistakes. If we make a mistake, we

can only try to make up for it. Hence, I didn't blame you for your pregnancy this time. I know that you

had made a similar mistake to what I did while I was young..."

Only then did Lucille understand why Marvin would accept the child in her belly!

He actually thought that she was pregnant by mistake.

She had thought that her father had trusted her, but she had never imagined that he would group her

into the same type of person like him!

"I'm pregnant with Franklin's child. I have never cheated on him, and I am different from you!" Lucille

roared agitatedly.
