Chapter 1189
Chapter 1189
The woman was a little annoyed. "I'm telling you again, that's not my name. My name is Lorrie Dent."
'Lorrie Dent...' Pearl got lost in thought for a moment as she repeated the name in her mind.
"Miss Pea, please look at me while I'm talking to you. Be respectful."
Pearl casually spun the pen in her hand and looked at her. "How do you want to get justice for the man then?"
Lorrie smiled. "I want you to apologize to him in front of everyone."
Pearl cleared her throat. "But I've sent him to a mental facility. Do you really want me to apologize to a madman?"
"It's illegal to send someone you don't know to a mental facility. Don't you know that?"
Pearl nodded earnestly. "Of course I do. That's why I got someone to check him, and it turns out he has symptoms of schizophrenia."
Lorrie was speechless. She had almost forgotten how influential this woman was. She lived life on her terms in Enswood with all her money.
She wanted to confront her, but it was like trying to break a rock with an egg. She bit her lip, feeling frustrated. "It was wrong of you to treat him that way."
Pearl was taken aback. "I treated him badly? Miss Lorrie, when did I do that?"
Lorrie's face turned red from anger.
"Also, did anyone else here see me treat him badly?"
Everyone around was a fan of Pearl's, and since they believed the man was rude first, they all disagreed. "No, I didn't see anything like that."
"I just saw a lewd man getting kicked out."
"Who are you to argue with Pea here?"
"See how evil she is. She's trying to cause trouble for Pea."
"Get out of here, hater."
Everyone sided with Pearl, and Lorrie felt crushed, disappointment obvious in her eyes. She had acted too hastily, not considering that the group would back Pearl.
"Are you a fan of my book, Miss Lorrie?" Pearl held up her pen with a grin. "If you are, I can autograph it for you."
Lorrie was utterly speechless because, despite her earlier aggression, she was met with kindness. She was torn between leaving or staying as she held a copy of Pearl's latest book, titled 'Observe the Tea, as though she herself was the 'tea.'
She felt overwhelmed knowing she couldn't confront Pearl effectively. As her body shook, she threw the book on the desk and stormed off.
Pearl watched her go and started to wonder. This wouldn't be the last time she saw Lorrie, considering she came just to taunt her.
