Chapter 1190
Chapter 1190
However, when the woman reached the door, a boy suddenly emerged from it.
Pearl's expression immediately changed at the sight of the child—he was the spitting image of Richard!
Concerned, she hurried over.
She watched the boy excitedly showing a toy to Lorrie, who dismissively threw it away. The boy looked disappointed.
Pearl remembered the woman who had been with the boy wasn't Lorrie but someone unremarkable. She realized the name the woman had given was false. How did the boy know Lorrie then?
Pearl then realized the situation was more complex than it seemed. Pulling out her phone, she made a call. "Keep an eye on someone for me."
After the book signing, Pearl visited Esther on the set of her new series.
Esther, wearing period attire and engrossed in her script, had chosen this role-a supporting character that was so endearing she might outshine the lead actress with her performance. Her role as a seemingly snobbish princess who was actually warm-hearted mirrored her own personality, and Pearl commended her choice.
Clem's wife was expecting their second child soon, so she had given him some paternity leave. Only Esther's assistant was with her.
Pearl walked over and noticed a familiar person in the corner. She looked at him in surprise and said, " You're here, Finnegan."
"I'm the screenwriter for this series," Finnegan replied, looking relaxed as he reviewed the script.
"You left the village job for screenwriting?" Pearl inquired, sitting beside him. "What did your dad say?"
"He said as long as I marry the woman he chooses, I can do whatever I want."From NôvelDrama.Org.
Esther, overhearing the conversation, looked over curiously. "Marry? Who's getting married?"
Finnegan turned and affectionately told her, "Focus on your script."
Esther scoffed and then turned around when the bell above them rang.
Pearl, noticing the love in Finnegan's gaze toward Esther, clicked her tongue. "How can you go through with marrying that fiancee? Can you really be at peace?"
Finnegan shook his head helplessly. "Don't ask if you know the answer. What choice do I have? Do I just try to steal her away?"
Pearl sympathized with him but was at a loss for words. He didn't seem to have any intention to fight James. "No. Like I said before, I just wish you'd thought it through," she said gently.
Their conversation didn't go unnoticed by Esther, who found it puzzling but intriguing. Yet, with her scene about to start, she dropped her questions and focused on her role. The lead had mesmerizing looks, but he couldn't get his lines right.
