Chapter 114
Chapter 114
Sofia’s POV
“Ma’am?” She echoed as she turned her head until she was staring at me. I breathed out an
exasperated sigh and resisted the urge to throw my arms around as I started to speak almost
immediately. “It’s Sofia, and not ma’am.” I said to her firstly, watching as she stared at me confusingly
for a few moments before realization started to cross her face in the next moment.
“Oh, I’m sorry ma’am, I mean Sofia.” She breathed out and I huffed out another slow breath, feeling
tired because no matter all what I had said to Matilda about me preferring if I was being referred to as
Sofia, and not ma’am or Mrs Ricci, like they had wanted to start referring to me as, immediately they
sighted me, tne very next day after I had gotten married.
Although Sarah barely refer to me as ma’am or Mrs Ricci which I was really pleased with, Matilda’s
case was quite different. She was always referring to me as either ma’am or Mrs Ricci every blessed
day, and of course, I’d proceed to correct her and remind her of what I prefer, and then she’d apologize,
only to make that same mistake once again, hours later, or the next day.
I started to walk towards her until I was stabbing a few feet away from her, and then I started to speak.
“Um, did Luca say anything about me not stepping foot out of the house on my own?” I asked after a
few seconds and watched as she stared at me confusingly for a few moments before she started to
shake her head almost immediately.
“No, no. Mr Ricci never said anything about you not leaving the main house on your own.” Matilda
paused after that and stared into nothing for a few moments before starting to speak again. “You meant
this house that we were currently in at this moments, and not the whole house, including the big gates
of those house, right?” Matilda asked and I started to nod my head immediately.
“Yeah, this particular house. That was what I meant.” I said to her in explanation, resisting the urge to
breath out a mocking laugh at myself, where could I even go without the help of a bodyguard anyway?
Where? Except I was planning to turn invisible, whereas one of Luca’s enemies wouldn’t be able to see
me as well, as soon as I'd made my way out of these four protective walls surrounding this house.
Leaving the big gates of the house never even crossed my head to begin with, because I haven’t even
done something like that throughout my whole life, right since when I had been unmarried and living a
seemingly normal life, back in my father’s house.
The thought about leaving the main house into the compound of the house had only crossed my mind
because I could also remember when I was back at home, and how I could leave the house for the
compound because there was a garden located at one part of my house, and Angelo and usually go
there at least five times a week, in order to get some time to ourselves and in order to play.
“I honestly do not know if it would be alright for you to leave the house, into the compound. I haven’t
asked the master and I am sure you haven’t as well.” Matilda started to say before pausing and
continuing almost immediately. “You know what? How about I go get the guards for you? And then you
can ask them if MrRicci had informed them if you could leave the compound or not, just to be sure. And
if they also do not know as well, then you can just wait and ask Mr Ricci tonight after he gets back from
work.” Matilda started to say and turned around, making her way out of the laundry room, as soon as
she was done.
I didn’t bother to inform her that I wouldn’t be asking Luca if it was alright if I go outside the house
whenever I wanted to, if it ends up turning out to be that Luca hadn’t given them permission to allow me
to leave tne house whenever I feel like. I hadn’t bothered to inform her that I would just accept the fact
that I won’t be able to go into the compound and would only be allowed to step outside the house,
whenever I was about to go get something.
Why?
Well because, after I had confronted him yesterday about my whole painting issue and had finally
thankfully gotten permission, I felt like it was way too early for me to go see him and start to request for
something once again. Let’s also not forget the fact that I was hella nervous and wasn’t a hundred
percent sure if I was going to be able to survive going to stand before him to ask him for permission for
something else, seeing as I had almost fainted while asking him for permission yesterday, about the
painting thing.
I moved away from where I had been standing and started to move out of the laundry room, pulling the
door behind me until it got firmly shut. And then I began to make my way through the hallway, making
my way straight into the kitchen. I fetched a cup for myself in the kitchen from the arranged line of cups
on the counter and moved towards the sink. I rinsed the cup before allowing the cold water from the
sink to fill up the cup.
I raised the cup up towards my lips and took in a deep mouthful, loving how the water wet up the back
of my throat as well as the whole underside of my tongue almost immediately, and then I proceeded to
pour the rest of the water into the sink before rinsing the cup and returning the cup back to where I had
picked it up from.
I was about to head towards the sitting room before pausing in tbe hallway on hearing a couple or
footsteps start to echo oh the right hand side of my body, and I didn’t need to think hard before knowing
who it was. I turned my head around and sighted Matilda leading the way forward, as the two
bodyguard walked a few feet behind her, and they dwarfed her since he head wasnt even able to reach
their shoulders, and she was a little bit taller than I was, which only managed to place more emphasis
on tne fact that I was short.
I remained in the same position and watched as the finally stepped a few feet away from me. Matilda
started to speak immediately and I focused my gaze on her, refusing to glance upwards and steer into
both guards faces, even though I could feel their stared burning into my body.
“Here they are,” Matilda said and I clasped my hands around my stomach, feelimg weirded out a little
about the fact that my stomach was being currently revealed in the crop top which I was currently in,
and I knew that they were both going to notice it soon, if they haven’t noticed it yet, that is.
It wasn’t like I was insecure about my stomach because there was nothing to be insecure about, seeing
as I have a really slim body, which automatically means my stomach was going to be very small, along
with my waist… and even if I wasn’t built as slim as I was, I wouldn’t have a problem with it, because all
bodies were perfectly created, and all bodies were just as beautiful.
But then, I was still going to be feeling embarrassed about the fact that my stomach was currently This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
being revealed, probably because I was used to it being revealed, which was why it was making me
feel slightly weirded out.
Assuming I had seen something that was somewhat comfortable in my wardrobe, I most definitely
wouldn’t have bothered wearing the top which I was wearing right not… but then, I didn’t think my
mother and her sisters had thought about if Luca was going to have lots of guards around him, when
they had picked out all those clothes for me.
“Thank you, Matilda.” I said to her and watched as she nodded her head at me before walking past me
to probably head back towards the room where I had seen her in, and I was super glad she hadn’t
reminded me to ask them about if I was allowed to step out or the house, right in front of them.
I turned my head and watched as she walked down the walk before turning into the corner where the
laundry room was located, disappearing out of sight immediately.
I turned my head back around and dragged in a deep breath as I slowly lifted my head up until I was
staring into the faces of both bodyguards, and my eyes briefly settled on Ethan’s face before moving
towards Ryan’s face. I dragged my eyes away from his face and moved it back to Ethan’s face.
“Good afternoon, Mrs Ricci.”
