Chapter 127: I Have a Crush on Someone

Chapter 127: I Have a Crush on Someone

“How about Hayden?” Viola looked hurt, and she persistently pursued her questioning, “So you think that she is much more suitable for being Noah’s mother than me, is it?”

Joseph frowned slightly and nodded after a moment of contemplation, “Yes.”

Sometimes, it wasn’t necessary to be clear to everyone about the things in his mind. He used to settle most of the problems he encountered efficiently, and such an answer would end this conversation at the moment.

As expected, although Viola had a bad look, she didn’t pursue further questions.

Viola clenched her fist all the way into the lift after leaving Joseph’s office. After all, if it wasn’t for Hayden, she would still be the right person for Joseph to marry.

As she was about to close the lift door, she heard a teenager’s clear voice, “Hold on.”

Subconsciously, she let the lift remained open, and she vaguely remembered hearing this voice before. As she raised her head, the person just walked into the lift calmly, nodding to her, “Thank you.”

Viola turned pale at the moment she saw the teenager’s face. The teenager would have seen the bad look on her face if she hadn’t had her sunglasses on.

“You…”

“What’s the matter?” The teenager looked at her puzzlingly, “Do you know me?”

Viola clenched her fist and denied, with the hat and sunglasses hiding her face, “Nope, I don’t.”

Although some people might look alike, the person in front of her looked exactly the same as the missing Lachlan Kelly.

But he seemed to not recognize her.

The lift door opened slowly after a ding. Viola watched the teenager leaving without turning back, and then she came to her senses gradually. She went to the reception to ask, “Isn’t that the hotel not receiving guests temporarily? What’s on with that guy who just left?”

Lillian was on duty at the reception.

“Do you mean Benjamin? He’s a friend of Ms. Downey. Mr. Beckham arranged for him to stay here. He isn’t a guest.”

Everyone in the ST Hotel only knew that Benjamin was a friend that Joseph arranged for him to stay in personally, so nobody knew his identity. Not many knew about his memory loss as he usually hid well. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Viola frowned even deeper.

How could he be Hayden’s friend? That was apparently Lachlan.

Or maybe he had told Joseph about the investigation of Caesar previously?

Thinking of this, Viola turned pale. She made a call, and she was flustered as she spoke, “Jason, I saw Lachlan. It’s getting troublesome now.”

Hayden had a good sleep, and it was already dark outside as she woke up. The lights from behind the screen illuminated the bedroom warmly. She opened her sleepy eyes and smelled something good.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?”

Hayden got out of bed, walked to the back of the screen, and saw Joseph eating alone at the table. There were three dishes with one soup, served with fruits and desserts on the table.

“Aren’t you awake now even if I didn’t wake you up?” Joseph raised his head, teasing, “Puppies and kittens normally wake up when smelling their food.”

“You’re the puppy and kitten.” Hayden stared at him as she pulled a chair, “Humans do wake up to smelling the fragrance.”

Joseph didn’t respond while he served a bowl of soup and put it in front of her, “Chicken soup. Have a try.”

“You cooked it?”

“Sort of.”

Hayden was stunned. She was just checking, and how could she expect a spoiled child like him to cook chicken soup for her?

She froze for a moment before Joseph curled his lips and said with a smile, “I let the back-of-house cook it.”

Hearing this, Hayden rolled her eyes at him, “If this is considered as you cook it, then next time, how about we advertise our hotel food all cooked by the CEO? Then all the women in Nanking will have line up to flatter you.”

Joseph replied calmly, “Are you implying to me that you are jealous?”

“What… What do you mean I’m jealous…” Hayden then blushed when she realized what she had said just now, and she retorted, “Why are you so full of yourself? I was just exaggerating. Do you really think that there are so many women hitting on you? Why do I even want to be jealous?”

“I didn’t notice how many women had been hitting on me before.” Joseph glanced at her, “Instead, there were quite a few that pick up on you too. Shouldn’t you give me an explanation too?”

Joseph shifted his ground suddenly, and Hayden was stupefied at the moment, “What do you mean picking up on me?”

Joseph crossed his arms and remained calm as he looked at her, “At the age of fifteen and twenty-five. Do you always bring a guy home every ten years?”

Hayden then came back to her senses and said unsatisfactorily, “Who are you talking about hooking up with a man? You knew that it was all an accident!”

“I knew the kid that lives in the hotel, but how about the other one? He’s quite messing with me recently.”

“You mean Freddie? How did he mess with you again? Isn’t he going to a variety show?”

“You really seemed to be busy recently. Have a look.”

Joseph tapped on his phone to play a video and showed it to Hayden with a blank expression on his face.

Hayden watched the video puzzlingly, a video clip of Freddie being interviewed on a variety show recently. Freddie was sitting in front of the camera in blue and white plaid pyjamas.

The reporter asked him, “You’re now only in your early twenties. Although the scandal previously was cleared up and the company had proclaimed that you are single, can you tell us more about the type of girl that you like?”

“I think it isn’t a type. I have a crush on someone.”

“Is it?” The reporter asked in an excited tone, “Who is she? Is she someone inside the entertainment industry?”

“Nope. She’s an outsider. She adopted me when I was young.”

“Adopted? A foster mother?” The reporter was shocked.

“Of course not. She’s just only three years older than me. Kind of like a sister to me but not blood- related.”

The reporter was speechless.

“He’s just kidding, right?” Hayden didn’t take it seriously, as she explained while eating the soup, “He’s been like this since he was a kid, always telling others that I’m his fiancée. How could this be possible? I’m his sister.”

“Oh really?” Joseph pressed on the back button, looking at the calm look on Hayden, “Then how about looking at the caption title of this news video?”

Hayden took a sip of the soup and looked at Joseph in confusion.

On the phone was a three-minute short video, with a caption title of ‘Freddie revealing his own life and the one he loved was his own foster mother.’

“Pff,” Hayden spat out the soup from her mouth, “Ahem, who’s this reporter? Isn’t all of this nonsense? Who is he calling Freddie’s foster mother? What is this all about… ahem…”

Joseph calmly drew a tissue and handed it to her, “Do you still think that this is no big deal at all?”

Hayden was embarrassed as she coughed while taking the tissue and wiped her mouth casually, “So what now?”

“I’ve asked someone to remove this trending topic before I arrived.” Joseph said in a low voice.

Hayden froze for a moment and finally breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank you. I apologize for Freddie.”

Freddie was under Joseph’s company. It took Joseph so much human and financial resources to clear up the mess made by Freddie.

“Such an insincere thank and apology.” Joseph’s eyes darkened.
