Chapter 321
Chapter 321
Coleen continued, "The chairman of Ashford Inc. is a real go-getter. I've dealt with him before. He's a
stand-up guy, and he ain't gonna pull a fast one. He invited me just for some friendly professional
exchange, nothing sneaky. It's just been misunderstood by his employees."
"But, how can you be so sure that the chairman of Ashford Inc. didn't do it on purpose and then throw
his subordinates under the bus?"
Coleen just smiled, not giving a straight answer.
After the incident last time, the chairman of Ashford Inc. showed up at her house with an apology gift in
the evening.
Firstly, out of professional respect, he felt guilty. Secondly, it was Coleen's husband and son who kept
him on his toes.
After the secretary left, Coleen's phone rang again. She was swamped every day, but this call was from
her sister, Saul's mother. She picked up the phone and said, "Hey sis."
"How are you holding up health-wise? Saul mentioned you're not doing so hot, seems like you've been
visiting the hospital quite a bit. If you're not feeling well, take a break and let Saul handle the company
stuff. You can trust him."
"Saul is blowing things out of proportion. It's just benign breast lumps; at our age, it's normal to have
some health hitches. No need to make a mountain out of a molehill," Coleen replied.
The other side nagged a bit more before hanging up.
After hanging up, Coleen frowned. She dialed her secretary and said, "Let the president of Ashford Inc.
know that I'll be attending their opening with my daughter."
"Sure thing, president."
Thinking about her sister's call and Saul's recent behaviors, she dialed the finance manager, "Come up
for a bit."
…
In the evening, Coleen drove home to find her husband and son discussing work. When she walked in,
they paused their conversation. "Mom, have you eaten?" Chad asked.
Coleen nodded, "I ate with my colleagues. Have you and dad eaten yet?"
Chad also nodded.
She dropped her bag and sat on the couch, "Molly was asking about you this morning. Go see her if
you have time tomorrow."
"I talked to her until she fell asleep last night. What could she possibly be missing me for?" Chad
chuckled.
Whenever it came to his sister, he always lit up.
Coleen was a bit tired and sat on the sofa with her eyes closed for a while, "Chad, don't work with
relatives and friends in the future."
"That's not for me to decide. Mom, what's wrong?"
Mr. Kendrick also looked at his wife curiously.
Coleen sat up, and she began chatting with her husband and son about daily life."I've been going to the
hospital a lot recently and somehow Saul caught wind of it. He's trying to meddle with the finance
department. A marketing manager wants to manage my finances? He's got his hand in the cookie jar.
“This afternoon, my sister even called to suggest that I let Saul run the company. It's all dressed up as
concern for me, but really she just wants her son to get his hands on the company.
I went out for lunch with my employees today and found out what's been happening recently. Saul has
been cozying up to the other shareholders, always giving gifts and inviting them for meals, all behind
my back. I've watched him grow since he first joined the company. I thought he would be a great help to
Chad when Chad takes over the company after graduation. Now I feel like I've been raising a wolf by
my side."
Chad knew that Juliana was also interested in Chade Inc. and wanted a piece of the pie. He never
thought his mom’s sister would also be interested in the company.
"Ever since they found out Molly isn't my biological child and Chad can't be involved in business All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
activities, they've been eyeing my company."
Chad said, "Even if Molly isn't our biological child, Chade Inc. will eventually be passed on to her."
Mr. Kendrick comforted his wife, "With me and our son here, no one can take what's yours."
Coleen said, "Everyone wants to protect their own children. Even if Chad doesn't want Chade Inc., it
must belong to Molly, no one else has a say. At the opening of Ashford Inc.'s new store next week, I
plan to take Molly with me. I want everyone to know that the future of Chade Inc. will be taken over by
my daughter."
Mr. Kendrick looked at his spirited wife, whom he loved deeply. "Let's dress up our girl next week and
let everyone know that she's our daughter, and the future leader of the company."
Ever since Chad became a cop, he can no longer be the heir to the company, unless he gave up being
a cop. But when Chad first became a cop, he made it clear that he didn't want to inherit the company
and hoped it could be passed on to his sister. So when Molly was choosing her major, the family hoped
she would study business.
Having just completed her college application, Molly said nonchalantly, "Dad, mom, brother, you guys
choose. I hope I won’t run out of money in the future."
With Coleen's Chade Inc., she surely won't be short of money.
After chatting for a while, they each went to rest.
After taking a shower, Coleen lay down on the bed, "Thank God it's just breast lumps, I was scared it
might be breast cancer. Molly is only a sophomore, and she doesn't understand anything. I'm worried
about the treatment."
Mr. Kendrick lay down beside his wife, "You have to take your medicine on time. The doctor told you it's
due to overwork. If it's a breast tumor or breast cancer, you can't escape surgery."
A while ago, Coleen found a lump in her breast. She started taking medication after getting checked at
the hospital, worried that it might be breast cancer. But the diagnosis was not yet confirmed, and in
order to not worry the kids, she hadn't told them.
Coleen said, "I will listen to the doctor and keep a positive mood in the future."
"With your temper, I doubt you can. Tomorrow I'll write a sign and hang it in your office to remind you to
stay positive."
Coleen playfully patted her husband's back, "You're something else. Honey, when will you have time to
go with me to the Cedillo family's place to see Mia? She's been pregnant for so long, and I haven't
seen her yet. Last time at the hospital, I didn't get a chance to talk to her."
"I'll make time to go with you," Mr. Kendrick replied.
The next day, Molly got a call from Coleen. "Mom, why did you call me over?"
"I'm going to make you a dress," Coleen continued, "Just come have lunch with me here."
Molly agreed and headed towards Chade Inc. after school.
Just as she stepped into the elevator, she saw Saul, "Cousin, are you going for lunch?"
Seeing Molly, Saul was somewhat surprised. He usually didn't see his little sister at the company.
"Molly, what brings you here?"
"My mom asked me to come over," the elevator arrived, and Molly quickly said, "You go have lunch, I'll
go see my mom."
Watching Molly's retreating figure, Saul fell deep into thought.
